How does Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy work?
Ketamine
Ketamine is an FDA-approved anesthetic and pain reliever. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) can produce rapid change compared to traditional talk therapy. This is due to the medication's antidepressant and anxiety-reducing effects which produce an altered state of consciousness. Therapeutic journeys utilize sub-anesthetic doses of ketamine to facilitate an ego-dissolving exploration. In contrast to most medications, which tend to elicit a masking response, ketamine serves as a gateway to consciousness, enabling individuals to discover the underlying causes of their ailments, reshape their personal narratives, and progress toward therapeutic breakthroughs.

During a ketamine journey, natural mental blockages dissolve and patients are able to gain new insights into their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. These journeys typically induce profound relaxation and tranquility, often accompanied by visual phenomena or intricate fractal patterns. This altered state of consciousness is a departure from one's usual thought patterns, leading to sensations of wakefulness or a sense of detachment from the physical body, allowing for revisiting of past people, places, or events.

Following a journey, patients work with their care provider to rest and reflect on their insights. These insights are integrated into daily life to develop coping strategies, symptom-management, and reframing of personal narratives.
What to Expect
The KAP process
Patients have found long-lasting change through 6 sessions of sub-anesthetic doses of ketamine. These sessions usually span across 6 weeks.

Our clinic prescribes sublingual tablets or 'troches,' which begin to take effect in 5-10 minutes when placed under the tongue.

Dissociative effects typically last 60-90 minutes. You will return to baseline 1-3 hours after treatment. We encourage you to rest for the remainder of the day following treatment.

If swallowed, effects can last 4-5 hours.
Patients are continually monitored by our Licensed Medical Doctors and chaperoned by our dedicated staff
